Why become a Brainspotting therapist?
The Brainspotting method is a valuable addition to existing therapeutic knowledge, as it allows the therapist and his clients to gain deeper access to the origins of problems and promotes more effective healing. This approach allows direct access to deep structures in the brain, where unprocessed traumatic memories are stored. It is based on modern neuroscientific findings about the functioning of the brain and how trauma is processed and resolved at a deep level.
Brainspotting helps the therapist overcome internal and interpersonal barriers that may reduce his or her attunement to the client. According to the Brainspotting method, a good psychotherapeutic relationship is key to creating a safe space for processing and releasing the deep neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain.
