Brainspotting for Children and Adolescents

Monika Baumann is a clinical psychologist, systemic family psychotherapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist, senior Brainspotting therapist, teacher and supervisor, and head of Brainspotting Austria.

Monika first encountered Brainspotting during her work on a social project. Convinced of the method’s effectiveness, she increasingly specialized in working with emotional stress and trauma using Brainspotting. She works with all age groups. To date, Monika’s youngest Brainspotting client was a six-week-old infant, while her oldest client was over 80 years old. She uses Brainspotting both as a short-term intervention (2-5 sessions) and as part of long-term psychotherapy.

Monika enjoys working with children and adolescents, and together with her colleague Marta S. Jacobi from the USA, she developed the Brainspotting training for children and adolescents. In 2020, she consolidated her knowledge in the book “Brainspotting with Children and Adolescents: An attuned treatment approach for effective brain-body healing.”
