ABOUT FREE WEBINAR

Addictions have become deeply woven into modern life—whether related to substances, technology, sex, or other compulsive behaviors. These challenges often trap individuals in cycles of distress, shame, and emotional suffering. As mental health professionals, we regularly encounter addiction in our clinical practice and are called to respond with skill, compassion, and informed therapeutic strategies.

This introductory webinar is designed to provide a solid foundation for understanding addiction through the lens of trauma, attachment, and neurobiology. At the same time, it serves as an entry point to a more comprehensive and advanced training program that will follow.

In this webinar, we will explore:

  • The neurobiology of addiction,
  • Types of substances, associated risks, and principles of harm reduction,

  • The role of attachment trauma and self-regulation challenges,
  • Substance use as attempts at self-regulation and self-medication,
  • Understanding desired states and unmet needs as keys to therapeutic work,
  • Approaches to working with ambivalence in addiction,

  • The application of Brainspotting in addiction treatment.

WHO IS THIS WEBINAR FOR?

  • psychotherapists,

  • psychologists,

  • counselors,

  • social workers,

  • psychiatrists,
  • and other mental health professionals
